Grown-up Dress-up part II- "trash" the dress

When my sweet friend told me about her marriage blessing the sentence went something like this "So we are going to get our marriage blessed by a priest and I am gonna get a new dress and then we are gonna go out afterward and trash it, its gonna be awesome!" She and I have been so excited about this part of the session for months. We didn't get the gorgeous seaside sunset we had hoped for and we made it down a little later than we had planned so the tide was up to high to really get out in the cliffs but it was still so much! There is something truly liberating about taking this beautiful gown that you are suppose to be so carefully with and just throwing caution to the wind and jumping in the ocean with it. Whether its your original dress or a great thrift store find, years later or days later, heck it doesn't even have to be bridal, getting gussied up in something lovely and then going out and not worrying about how the dress looks afterward is such a fun photo session, I think every girl should do it!

Grown-up Dress-up - A Bridal Portrait Session

A few months ago my beautiful best friend and her hunky husband celebrated their 7th anniversary by having their marriage blessed by a Catholic priest. We had planned to do her bridal portraits & trash the dress session shortly there after but between 3 kids under 3 and 2 husbands in the Marine Corps it took us a few months to finally find an evening where we could go out and really have some fun doing beautiful bridal portraits and "trashing" her dress. Today I am sharing part 1 of this session, the more classic bridal portraits BUT stay tuned because tomorrow I will post the super fun ocean "trash" session we did!!!

Happy Memorial Day- A Military Homecoming Session

About a month ago I had the true honor to be a part of welcoming home two of my friend's husbands for 8 long months at sea. Every homecoming I am a part of is special but celebrating with good friends when their spouses return is always the cherry on the top. I saved this session to post today because this is what today is really about, those who fought and especially those whose homecoming day never came. Today get out and have a big party, enjoy freshly grilled foods and welcome in summer because the freedom we enjoy in this country is truly something to celebrate, but as you do take a moment to remember those who found to protect your freedom but didn't come home to celebrate it. Happy Memorial Day America! To all past and present who served, THANK-YOU!
