Were overjoyed to call us theirs

Taught us how to be proud of who we are

Helped us reach new heights

Bathed us in love and soap

Celebrated our biggest moments with us

Gave us more of ourselves that we might realize

Taught us the beauty of a smile

Kissed away our grumpy faces

Carried us with perfect grace

Surprised us 

Were strong when life threw them a curveball

Taught us how to be beautiful inside & out

Helped us fly

 

and most importantly held us close in their arms- protecting, caring, nurturing and loving
